Community Foundation Insights

Community Foundation Insights (CFI) is taking shape:
  • Following a large presence at the 2007 Fall Conference on Community Foundations, CFI membership was opened to the field on October 1.  Staff are now working to incorporate a rush of new members into the database.
  • Thanks to the hard work of the Fundraising Committee, funding commitments recently surpassed the goal of $1.7 million needed to cover the first three years of Community Foundation Insight’s start up and operations until CFI is self-sustaining.
  • With the help of outside programmers, the database was developed and the online interface was launched in March 2007.  Original participants in the database included many of the funders, foundations which had previously performed an FSG Cost-Revenue study, and several other foundations.
  • Current features and services include multiple years of data from a large set of members and enhanced reporting capabilities drawing on CFI data, Council on Foundations surveys, the Columbus Survey, and Cost-Revenue Analysis data.
  • The CFI Advisory Board, appointed by the Community Foundations Leadership Team, is guiding the development of CFI using their expertise as leaders in the community foundation field.
  • The CFI team, led by Executive Director Wendy Horton, has grown to include a Chief Technology Officer and two Financial Analysts.
