Community Foundation Insights

Now more than ever, community foundations need access to reliable benchmarking data to match their costs to their revenues. FSG is working to establish Community Foundation Insights (CFI), a centralized data resource for community foundations.

CFI will give participating community foundations access to up-to-date information on the finances and best practices of their peers. The need for CFI was highlighted in a 2005 study commissioned by the Council on Foundations Community Foundations Leadership Team, and conducted by FSG, that found nearly unanimous desire among community foundations for more accurate, timely, and complete information about comparative financial performance.

The Council on Foundations Community Foundations Leadership Team has endorsed this project as a priority for the field and FSG is currently seeking start-up grant funding. We project that CFI will become self-sustaining within three years.
