Strategy & Implementation

A clear, well-articulated strategy helps an organization use its resources to maximum potential. FSG helps clients devise clear goals and implement effective strategies to realize them.

A strategy is not a mission statement, which focuses only on internal considerations such as staff values and capabilities. Nor is it a needs assessment, which focuses primarily on external perceptions of priority problems. Instead, an effective strategy positions the foundation at the intersection of the internal and external perspectives and asks: which of the many pressing needs are we uniquely qualified to address?

A strategy involves explicit choices of what to do and what not to do. This clarity enables a foundation to tailor its operations to support the strategy. At the same time, the shared vision and clear goals make it possible to define success measures to track social impact.

No strategy is complete without a clear perspective on how to realize it. As a result, we consider implementation as an essential part of our strategy work.

Clients benefit from FSG's global perspective and thought leadership on social sector strategy.
