The Nestlé Concept of Corporate Social Responsibility as Implemented in Latin America

Mark Kramer, Marc Pfitzer and Karin Jestin

Nestlé is a complex global corporation. It is one of the world's largest purchasers of basic foodstuffs such as coffee, cocoa and milk. FSG was commissioned in 2005 to study Nestlé's corporate social responsibility activities with a focus on its Latin American operations. We evaluated their activities to see if they created shared value for society and the corporation, a combination we see as essential to sustainable CSR activities.

Our report offers extensive details on Nestlé's practices and concludes that the company is creating shared value across all of its activities.
