Elizabeth (Betsy) Bury


Director

Elizabeth (Betsy) Bury is a monitoring and evaluation specialist with fifteen years experience in international, domestic, and organizational development, as well as project planning and evaluation. Recently, Betsy led the design of a new program planning, monitoring and evaluation system for the U.S. State Department's Middle East Partnership Initiative. She has also been responsible for design and oversight of monitoring and evaluation systems for U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) funded economic development programs in over fifteen countries as director of monitoring & evaluation for the International Executive Service Corps. Betsy also managed evaluation strategy for the U.S. Department of Commerce, which resulted in the improved performance of a national manufacturing competitiveness program. Prior to her national work, she worked on grassroots social and economic development programs in rural West Virginia, including serving as senior administrator for an environmental nonprofit.

Betsy holds a Master’s in City and Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.A. , cum laude, in Anthropology and Psychology from Dartmouth College.

Betsy speaks English, Yapese, French, and basic German.
