Valerie Bockstette


Consultant
Valerie Bockstette brings both nonprofit and corporate advisory experience to FSG. Most recently, Valerie worked on developing a new five-year grant-making strategy for the Gates Foundation’s Financial Services for the Poor group. In addition, Valerie has been helping a nonprofit in the global health arena look for a merger partner. Prior to joining FSG, Valerie served as the Managing Director of New Sector Alliance, a small nonprofit consulting firm connecting the talents of students and professionals to the strategic needs of social enterprises. Her clients included Jumpstart, Citizen Schools, ICIC and other leading social enterprises. Valerie has also worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Credit Suisse in both New York City and Frankfurt, Germany. The results of a World Bank-funded study Valerie co-conducted in college have been published in the Journal of Economic Growth: Bockstette; Chanda; Putterman “States and Markets: The Advantage of an Early Start”, December 2002.

Valerie holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School, where she graduated as a George F. Baker Scholar and a B.A. from Brown University, where she graduated magna cum laude and concentrated in both International Relations and Economics.
