Marcie Parkhurst

Marcie has completed strategy engagements for several national and regionally-based private foundations, including Atlantic Philanthropies, the Hewlett Foundation, the Knight Foundation, Meyer Memorial Trust, and the Haile/US Bank Foundation. Much of Marcie’s work has focused on community development issues (including affordable housing, economic development, and community engagement), but she has also assisted foundations working in the fields of education, healthcare, arts and culture, and human rights. In addition to her work with private foundations, Marcie has provided strategic planning support to key nonprofits in the New Orleans. Recently, she was also part of the FSG team helping a multi-national chocolate manufacturer to build a new sustainability strategy for the West African cocoa sector.
Marcie is a co-author of FSG’s recent white paper, Breakthroughs in Shared Measurement and Social Impact,as well as a white paper titled The Role of the Health Care Sector in Expanding Economic Opportunity, published by Harvard University and FSG. Before joining FSG, Marcie worked a consultant at a small management consulting firm servicing public housing agencies in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. She has also worked as a nonprofit program director at a nonprofit higher education advocacy organization in Madison, Wisconsin.
